Abstract

Euthanasia is a complex and controversial topic that raises questions about the right to a dignified death, individual freedom, and human dignity. This article analyzes euthanasia within the Brazilian legal framework, examining its foundations, objectives, and impacts. It explores the concept, modalities, and relevance of the topic in the legal field, addressing the right to life, dignified death, and individual freedom, according to the Federal Constitution. The research questions the coherence of the legal system that ensures a dignified life but denies the choice of a dignified death in terminal situations.
